"Remote" is a dialogue-free minimalist film that follows the journey of a woman as she travels across a stark and barren landscape of giant, desert-like sand dunes. Comprising of numerous long takes, Remote offers a meditative vision - exploring the physical landscape as a metaphysical state, and drawing on the journey of the film’s protagonist as a metaphor for spiritual journeys made across terrain within the human mind. “I’ve always been drawn to the imagery associated with the movement of lone human beings across geographically isolated landscapes, and the metaphors from this that allude to the journey of life. Existence is intrinsically intertwined with momentum – we are always either moving towards something or away from something.” – SJ.Ramir
