Five films on the cinematic idea of “locomotion”. “Pipe” takes you through an african urban landscape in slow-motion. Here a profile portrait on a “nicotine dream” travels along with the frame of the camera while everything else is moving. The hair fashions a trimmed motive of a pipe, or is it Nike’s logo? the immobile head puffs away the smoke from a lit cigarette butt…. “Under a car” describes the lower mechanics of a 4 by 4 jeep car driving over the camera lens. “Motorcycle, bike and human dots” recalls a physiognomical chart of primitive man species. On total darkness and one after the another, a motorcycle, a bike and a man crosses the frame in slow motion. They are all sprinkled with tiny phosphorescent dots, it seems we’re looking into an abstract regression to the most primitive form of transportation. The ghostly description of the walking man by tiny dots is followed by “Triangles and squares”, an animation of a random geometrical sentence.
