Raphaël Maze's work belongs to a dream-like representation of chaos. Images taken from journeys are transformed into signs, lines and graphic constructions of which the crackling succession intensifies the poetical charge even more. The continual alternation between internal organic and urban political is magnified by an edit resembling that of structural film which uses the black and white of different formats (HDV, Super 8, 16mm) following a frenetic rhythm. The visual pulsations, which are the beating heart of his films, thus represent the anchorage or the counterpoint of sound tracks that have been made since 2003 by musicians who are experimental buffs: Emmanuel Lalande, Nozal Cube, Jacques Brodier, Id m theft able, Olivier Labbé, Jean Philippe Gomez, François Buffet, Bruce Mc Clure, Guillaume Gargaud & François Lebègue, Speet Silex, Michel Titin-Schnaider, Sophie Agnel & Olivier Benoît, Duo Audinet Marty, Ben Miller,Laurent Dolcino, Baké-Baké! & friends, Jean-Luc Guionnet, François Arbon, Annabelle Playe, Théophane Bertuit, Rémi Faraut, Bye Bye Black Bird, F.L.F.
