Sara Sowell is an artist and experimental filmmaker. Her single-channel and expanded cinematic work reanimates legacies of art and media production with irreverence and other aesthetic interventions. Her work has shown in artist-run spaces, galleries and international film festivals including Microscope Gallery, New York, NY; Light Field, San Francisco, CA; Chicago Film Society, Chicago, IL; IFFR, Rotterdam, NL; Curtas Vila do Conde, Porto, PT; CROSSROADS, San Francisco, CA; and Baltic Analog Lab, Rīga, LV.
