Laurie O’Brien is multi-disciplinary artist working with video, installation, performance and animation. Puppets serve as an entry point for an investigation of contemporary ideas around deception, dual identities and alternative worlds. She is the creator of the Peephole Cinema, a public dime-sized cinema that screens curated short films 24/7 in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. She received her MFA from Cal Arts and lives in both Brooklyn and Rochester. She is an Assistant Professor of Visual Media at RIT in the Photography Department.
