Jason BOUGHTON

Nationality: American

Jason Boughton directed the short film "One Plus One" (1993) and is also recognized for his involvement in films such as "One True Thing" (1998), where he worked as a first assistant camera in the second unit, and in the television series "Date Patrol" (2003-2004) as an editor. He is also credited with directing "THE FREQUENCY OF THE SUN" (2006).

Boughton's artistic approach often involves "virtual hacking" and the search for images "that the empire has left behind" on the internet. His creative process focuses on taking these digital images, deconstructing them, and reassembling them into new films, seeking ways to make them "visible again" and to "maintain their mystery." In his work, Boughton has used, for example, outtakes from American propaganda films like "Why We Fight." It has been mentioned that part of his objective in his videos is to "sow confusion among the faithful."
