Adele Friedman is a filmmaker who began as a still photographer. Since the late 1970s, she has made over 100 super 8MM and 16MM films, some with sound, but most with silence, often preferring that the viewer be absorbed completely in the image. Adele is a native of Chicago, who received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as an advanced degree in Art History; she has worked as an educator for many years. Her films have been exhibited internationally in seven countries at many venues, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Arsenal Kino der Freunde der Deutschen Kinemathek in Berlin, and of course SCRATCH Cinema in Paris. In March 1985 she first exhibited at SCRATCH in Paris, so this tour will be an anniversary of 25 years.
