For Light Cone's 30 years anniversary, the Pompidou Centre presents six programs of films from Light Cone's collection.
Although the Light Cone catalogue brings together a large number of films from the history of the avant-garde, the collection also contains an important and constantly growing number of contemporary works. Since the beginning, Light Cone has promoted the visibility of contemporary artists, in particular through the Scratch screening series, which has left its mark on - and continues to influence - artists and filmmakers in their engagement to a radical form of film practice, and has become a regular discussion forum in regards to contemporary and historical practices of the moving image.
