December 28th, 1895. In the Salon Indien in the basement of the Grand Café in Paris, a handful of curious spectators witnessed, stunned, the birth of a new form of spectacle: cinema. A century later, cinema has shed its original skin for the new digital idol. Nevertheless, a few diehards, each in their own way, continue to make the gestures that restore to film its memory, its history and its vitality.
