UNTITLED aka AUGUSTINE ON THE BEACH follows a prompt from St. Augustine’s « Confessions »: « Time never lapses, nor does it glide at leisure through our sense perceptions. It does strange things to the mind. » The original material was shot in Étrétat, Normandy, on June 24, 2017, and then digitally altered in a process that Rodowick calls constructing « time pyramids » where intervals of past, present, and future overlap and interfere with one another.
