A bus trip. Three cameras, placed in correspondence of each door, recompose the view from the inside towards the outside. The vision is in flashes, during the short pauses at bus stops. The landscape outside and its characters seem to elude us as long as we do not fix them with pictures or words.
ELEVEN TRAILS challenges this evasion and the unbearability that reaches, in the absence of words and images, a collection of short stories, but just mentioned already so close to reality.
The silence from words is a landscape to cross. Ineffable like music. To get to know, from this silence, the noise of the world without seeing it, seems unbearable. Words speak in the name of the silence they aspire to and in darkness, as in silence, lies the greatest possibility for transformation. A silence and a darkness that are the implication of words and light. They precede words and light by missing them. And when, in the darkness, two characters talk and what they utter is in a language foreign to our understanding, it should not mean anything. It becomes like music. Ineffable like music. The silence and the darkness become excessive and we are as if exiled. In the silence from words, like exiles, we are incapable of seeing the place of permanence, or the place of everyday life. Places that, with neither images nor words, appear given back to us in a banal way. Like exiles, we are blind without territory. ELEVEN TRAILS is an attempt to force the viewer to see or hear things without them being uttered.
