Autobiography Series.
"Earlier, around 1pm, I was with Gaël in front of the Montparnasse Tower and I was thinking about the first sentence of my film: Three drops of mezcal... Each new film is a step in the darkness, mystery and emptiness. And I'm also thinking about the sentence: "Cinema is made with the guts" and I think that the guts are in fact the "double" of the film. That's where the world (our food) "stands". That's where this world travels the circular-spiral path of the guts. The film is an external concretization of this circularity and fertility of the guts. "(Notebook 7, page 19, translated by Xochitl Camblor-Macherel).
