‘Mission Microbiome’ brings us aboard the schooner Tara, at the heart of the eponymous mission dedicated to the plankton. We follow the thoughts of the scientists on board, on the delicate boundary between science and science fiction. From the vastness of the seascapes to the microscopic abstractions, the film immerses us in a constantly shifting interstice, moving between sweeping glances and focused observation.
