Among the archived postcards and old photographs preserved as local materials, many exhibit discoloration, stains, and signs of wear due to their material characteristics. While the primary goal of archival preservation is to maintain the original state of these materials as much as possible, we might also view the physical transformations caused by aging as a manifestation of the passage of time and the memories embedded in the objects.
