The equipment in a cellar used as a boiler room is surveyed detail by detail, alternating images of heat measurement systems, piles of coal, objects and papers on the walls, the lighting systems, plans and technical diagram. The stereo soundtrack brings together the sounds of the space just outside (a garden the cellar looks onto) and a person reading out questions and possible answers from a self-assessment test.
