Voyage en la Terre Autrement Dite takes its inspiration from the first stories of ethnographical exploration of the America by Conquistadors, missionairies or scientists. The film is entirely shot in Lille's equatorial greenhouse, a 1970's building constructed by Jean-Pierre Secq, a kind of botanical Crystal Palace in a reinforced concrete version. The architecture and plants of this enclosed place are used as narrative supports for an initiatory journey, welcoming the words of an "explorer" and his visions. The film evokes the birth of the "New World" and the images it has generated.
