After making their first film, Allée des Signes, in 1976, Gisèle and Luc MEICHLER set up their own production company and continued to make films independently. They were members of the Coopérative des Cinéastes and co-founded KMP before joining Light Cone in late 1980. They work in several genres, including essay film, experimental film, art film, and documentary.
