Patrick DELABRE

Nationality: French

Born in Thiant (North) in 1952. Frequent departments, philosophy and Cinema of the University Paris-VIII Vincennes in the mid-70s; he attended Gilles Deleuze's teaching and Cinematographic Energetics classes of Claudine Eizykman and Guy Fihma. He was one of the founders of Paris-Films-Coop in 1974 and then in 1976 and participated in the review Melba. Between 1974 and 1976, he produced 6 films which were then grouped under the title of Scandés. After Chantilly, Patrick Delabre produces Simultanés / Circonstances, a film of collage of images which takes up the principle of multi-screens of Chantilly. The artist then moved to the United States, to San Francisco and then to Chicago. His later works are Films installations.
