Nationality: American
Katy Martin is visual artist whose work combines painting, photography and performance. She also makes film and video.
In 2016, she exhibited at Galerie Arnaud Lefebvre and Light Cone Scratch Projection in Paris, and was artist-in-residence at the Shanghai University/College of Fine Arts. Recent solo exhibitions include Anthology Film Archives and Saint Peter’s Church in New York; and Alexander/Heath in Virginia. Katy’s work has also been exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art, PPOW Gallery and The Tribeca Film Festival in New York; The Sackler Museum in Boston; GalerieForum Am Meer in Berlin; and The Shanghai Duolun Museum.
In 2012, Katy joined The Meeting Point Project, a collaboration with three Paris artists. Their videos, photos and performances have shown in Paris and Beijing.
From 2005-10, she collaborated with a Shanghai film curator to program American film/video in China and Chinese film/video in the USA.
In 2015, her film, SILKSCREENS (1978), was preserved by Anthology Film Archives.
